Who are the Gang of Three?

The Gang of Three are three people elected to the Texas VHF-FM Society Board of Directors in August 2003:

• Chris Hudgins, N5IUF
• Don Stevenson, N5XWD
• Melissa Rasmussen, KM5R

They ran on a platform of sweetness, light, motherhood, and apple pie.

Unfortunately, they have shown nothing since but a determination to take over control of the Society by any means necessary. They've flung dirt, spent a fair sum of money, and in general tried their hardest to throw wrenches into the workings of the Society.

I do not know what they would do with the Society should they take it over. I'm fairly sure they don't know either. They do know they want to throw the bastards out, but when asked what they'd do if they were in charge, they retreat to vague platitudes. They have proven totally unable to articulate a concrete vision and plan of action for the Society.

Hudgins, in particular, has also demonstrated himself to be a coward of astonishing magnitude. He told me, in email, that he left the special meeting in April 2005 and did not attend the Board meeting right after it because he was feeling under the weather. I have since been told that that was a lie: he drove a block away from the meeting site and cowered in his car, apparently fearing for his safety, until the people he'd given rides to the meeting from Dallas left and joined him. The timing of his lawsuit also reeks of cowardice.

In short, these people have done little, if anything, to help the Society since their election to the Board, and have done a lot to cause trouble and expense. I believe this makes them undeserving of being reelected to the Board.
