The Gang of Three is lying to you!

In January, 2005, three directors of the Texas VHF-FM Society rammed through a change to the Society's bylaws in order to help them in their efforts to take over control of the Society. Unfortunately for them, they broke the rules when they did. They've been scrambling ever since to convince people that that change is the way things should be done. I'm not fooled, and you shouldn't be either.

The three directors involved have published a web site at http://www.texasvotebymail.info/ claiming the Society's Board of Directors is a bunch of dirty rotten no-goodniks because they refused to honor the invalid amendment. This site is a reply to that collection of innuendoes, half-truths, spin, and outright lies.

Follow the links at the left to find out just how they're lying to you. You'll also see what I think you should do about it all. I've collected all of the documents I could find, and they're right here. There are pages on who the Gang of Three is and what they want, and who I am and why I'm so irritated. Give them all a read.

Update, 10 January 2006: The Gang of Three spammed a PDF to lots of folks to try to hold up their position. It's full of the same old lies, spin, half-truths, and innuendoes. I take it apart, line by line, on this page.

Update, 3 January 2006: Here we go again. Not satisfied with their crushing defeat in August, the Gang of Three got one of their cronies, Carl Noblitt, N5CN, to propose an amendment to the Articles of Incorporation (the last page of the newsletter) to cast their failed vote by mail propsal into concrete! As if that weren't enough, the proposal also would require allowing proxy voting on all other matters voted on at Society meetings! Check out my discussion of all this here.

Update, 6 September 2005: I finally got around to writing a page about the results of the August 2005 meeting. On a personal note, to those questioning my parliamentary competence: I took, and passed, the test for Registered Parliamentarian on 27 August. This should put the carping that I must not know anything about parliamentary law because I'm not registered to rest once and for all.

Update, 3 August 2005: The Gang of Three sent out a second campaign letter, complete with the usual mix of lies, spin, innuendo, and half-truths. They didn't send me a copy in the mail, but they did send me a PDF copy, and I expose the lies on this page.

Update, 25 June 2005: I asked a friend who's an attorney to look at the letter from the Gang of Three's lawyer. I've added some of his comments, as well as more of my own, to the 19 June update page.

Update, 23 June 2005: I got curious about the repeated claims that the Board doesn't have the power to amend the bylaws. I read the actual Texas law on the subject, and it was quite enlightening. See for yourself.

Update, 21 June 2005: The Gang of Three has updated their website to launch attacks on me personally and purportedly to answer the arguments I've raised here. They used a lot of words to say very little. My comments on the update can be found here.
